Acworth Grand Stage Competition
Acworth acting competition meets the grand stage in The Big Skit Competition. This is not a regular summer acting camp. Young actors ages 7–17 are placed in teams, challenged to create original skits, rehearse under pressure, perform on stage, and compete in a live judged competition.
What makes the Acworth competition special is the setting, the energy, and the level of experience. This camp takes the signature Words In Motion competition model and brings it into the Rena Henton Theatre, giving young performers a stronger sense of stage, audience, pressure, and presentation.
A Bigger Stage. A Stronger Challenge. A Real Competition.
Throughout the week, teams will write, rehearse, shape, and perform original skits. They will learn how to make bold choices, work under a deadline, listen to direction, collaborate with teammates, and bring their performance to life in front of judges.
Judges may include working industry professionals such as talent agents, casting directors, directors, producers, and other film, television, and theatre professionals. This gives young actors a chance to perform with purpose, be seen in a professional environment, and rise to the occasion.
The Acworth Big Skit Competition is designed for young actors who are ready for more than a basic camp experience. It is for performers who want the excitement of competition, the discipline of rehearsal, the pressure of performance, and the joy of creating something original with a team.
Led by Emmy Award-winning acting coach Kelly Young-Silva, owner of Words In Motion Acting Studio, this competition helps young actors build confidence, creativity, teamwork, stage presence, leadership, and performance courage.
