The Big Skit Competition – Acworth
The Big Skit Competition has been one of Words In Motion Acting Studio’s most exciting and respected traditions. Now, that same high-energy competition experience is coming to Acworth, GA, giving young actors the opportunity to create, collaborate, rehearse, perform, compete, and rise to the occasion.
Actors compete on Friday and have the opportunity to win awards such as Best Actor, Best Director, Best Skit, and more.
This kids and teen acting camp in Acworth, Georgia is designed for young performers who love creativity, teamwork, comedy, performance, and the excitement of a live judged competition.

A Words In Motion Tradition
For 15 years, The Big Skit Competition has been one of Words In Motion Acting Studio’s signature competition experiences for young actors. Actors come from all over to take part in it, and we continue expanding it into more areas of Georgia each year. This high-energy event gives them the rare opportunity to create, collaborate, rehearse, perform, and compete in a way that truly pushes them.
Young actors rarely get the chance to perform in a live judged competition where awards are part of the experience and excellence is recognized. They feel the pressure, teamwork, excitement, and reward that come with rising to the occasion. That is part of what has made The Big Skit Competition one of Words In Motion’s most exciting, respected, and long-standing traditions.
Actors love competing with other teams, and we give the week a fun reality-show competition feel. Throughout the camp, we record teams, ask questions, build excitement, and let them experience the energy of healthy competition in a way that is fun, memorable, and full of value. This gives actors an old-school experience of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and earning the win.

What Young Actors Will Do
Throughout the week, actors work in teams to write, rehearse, and perform original skits. They collaborate, solve problems, build confidence, and prepare for a live performance experience. The week ends with a live judged competition where their work is presented and celebrated.

The Big Skit Competition is taught by Kelly Young-Silva, Emmy Award winner and owner of Words In Motion Acting Studio. Words In Motion is known for training actors with a focus on craft, discipline, growth, and professional standards.
